Floating Solar provides systems using unique technology, turning ‘catamaran connected’ HDPE tubes into robust and reliable floaters. Our HDPE and coated steel floating structure carries the solar system, while withstanding a wide range of ‘onshore’ weather conditions during its lifetime. O&M and safety was a key priority during the development of our systems.

Floating Solar’s systems are applied on Dutch drinking water basins, meeting the strictest standards when it comes to impact on water quality. Less than 20% of the island surface is in contact with the underlying water, and the open design of the system enables sufficient light to reach the water surface. The ‘bird protection mechanism’ and inclination of the solar panels discourage wildlife nesting on the systems, resulting in better self-cleaning and reduction of contamination.
